My robot Jashaun can collect regolith and still be light weight. Since excavators rely on their weight and traction to dig on the earth, my robot’s rear wheels are folded out and locked in place for better traction. It has a better shape for its bucket drum, or a sheet metal inside of it. It will fill a ratio of higher than 50% or 75% so the interior volume will be more than half full of regolith. Lunar dust can be less than 20 microns 0.00078 inches in size so my robot will carry more on shorter trips. It will be carrying the dust in a compartment in the back with a vacuum on the bottom to pick up dust. The electric field repels the lunar dust particles, which themselves carry a tiny electric charge and in any case if the battery runs out there is a backup.
