F.R.E.D.

The F.R.E.D. (Fantastic Rough Terrain Extraterrestrial Device) is a robot designed to pick up and collect lunar dust from the Moon’s surface. As the machine drives loose dust will be pushed onto the central conveyor belt, which then powers the dirt to the top of the belt before the vacuum tubes suck it up and push it into the central storage tank located in the top block. This block has a grey hatch with access to the tank. The robot would also have most of the mechanical pieces in the block. The robot would be made of tough steels to minimize damage from various obstacles. The robot would be powered by solar panels on the top of the large grey block.
