My Lunabotics Project is called SPU which stands for Soil Picker Upper and the point of my robot is to pick up the lunar soil. It has a big rectangular body and four wheels that are meant for the terrain on the moon. The front is like a shovel to collect the soil. It has a tall back wall so the soil doesn’t fall out once picked up.The tall sides are supposed to help with this as well. The front of the scoop is angled so that the soil comes into it easily and stays. The idea was to make the robot look similar to a Bobcat, the construction tool used to pick up and remove debris from the construction site. This is like the SPU robot. Overall, the main use of this robot is to pick up and carry it safely to wherever the soil needs to go.
