As the name suggests, the Regolith Inhaler is basically a lunar vacuum. Since a normal vacuum won't work on the moon (due to the lack of atmosphere), the Inhaler is a bit different. The way it works is that it has a positively pressurized (pressurized by the onboard oxygen tank) chamber that lowers onto the surface. Then, a negatively pressurized chamber that is inside the first chamber also lowers down. It has an attachment that covers the lunar surface. When you open the valve it sucks up the regolith into a storage container. It is powered by two solar panels in the back and it has 4WD so it won't get stuck in the dust! This design is more simple and relies less on mechanical systems that break easily.
