In the Metáfora Boötes model, the wheels are modeled after camels’ feet; a zinc-coated, piano-wire mesh material will support the weight of the craft to help increase traction. The inside of the wheels have a spring mechanism that will shape itself to different textures, allowing it to go over rocks without getting stuck. The legs holding the wheels also have springs for turbulence-free travels. The rover is covered in gold foil material, including the shovel and container space inside so it can reflect light and get rid of static, except on the solar panels which is its main source of energy. The rover’s cover can retract, allowing the shovel to scoop lunar regolith into it and carry dirt in its shovel. The cover will close so the regolith doesn’t fly out. There is a wire mesh brush inside that space where the dust is that brushes out excess dust.
