My Moonscraper is based on a backhoe, but it’s smaller. My robot has tread like a tank and not wheels. It has a large bucket on top that can be used to carry more lunar regolith than the scoop can hold itself. The scoop has spikes, which go together to carry more lunar regolith than just the bucket can hold. The front and back two plates (which move the tread) move up and down to help with rough terrain. The bucket is shaped like a triangle, but the tip is flat for easier cleaning and extraction, and also is thicker on the bottom, so it won’t collapse inside itself and destroy the inside, which has all the batteries and wires to power the bot. Since the lunar regolith is very clingy, the Moonscraper will have a layer of stainless steel mesh to repel the regolith. (Lego not to scale.)
