T.L.P.U.T. stands for “The Lunar Pick Up Truck” and it is a robot that is fully automatic, which means it doesn’t need a controller. T.L.P.U.T. has a trunk in the back of the truck to store the regolith. T.L.P.U.T. has two features to collect lunar soil (regolith). The first feature is a drill with holes in it, to collect the regolith and when it spins to the right, it digs. Then, the drill moves over the trunk and drops all the regolith, by spinning to the left. The second feature is a plow that collects regolith, and when it builds up, it overflows and goes into the trunk by a hole in the bottom of it. When the trunk is full, a hatch closes the bottom of it, so that no more regolith can go in the trunk.
