This robot design collects regolith by sweeping its arms into its vacuum mouth located in between the two arms. The lunar bot has moveable arms that robotically open and close. With it's two hinges, it shovels regolith into the robot’s mouth, which restricts the dust from coming back out. Wheels help the bot navigate the rough terrain, the long flexible shape of the wheels, along with the ridges that prevents the bot from slipping, helps the robot stay steady and at work while going over craters and any other obstacles. To maintain a stable environment, the Luna bot has dust vents to let out hot air under warm temperatures and contain hot air during freezing weather. The vents on the robot also act as a dust migration system to keep the dust and other substances that the robot is not prepared for out of the robot's operating system.
