The Exo Rehab Hand is basically an exoskeleton for your hand. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 110,000 United States workers suffer a hand or wrist injury each year which causes them to miss work. On a thirty month mission in space the risk would be greater due to bone loss and the constant need for exercise in zero gravity. My design would be made of iron and could be used as a rehabilitation tool for after the astronaut gets injured or as a splint. This model seen to the left is measured to fit my right hand perfectly with room in the six inches to spare so it can easily be modified to fit the astronaut’s hand. The pieces are easy to snap together and act as joints for rehabilitation, they can also be taken apart for individual use. The Exo Rehab Hand is designed for both uses on mars and in micro gravity.
