Chinese medicine cups are a tool for treating many different things such as improving blood flow, releasing toxins, improving depression and anxiety, clearing respiratory conditions, and loosening muscles through deep tissue therapy. Cupping can help with a lot of heath risks that astronauts may face during a mission to Mars, like bone density loss, exposure to radiation, mood disorders and lung disorders caused by the dust on Mars. Cupping works by creating suction on specific parts of your body to move Qi (energy). For the Mars mission, the cups should be printed using a material like silicone. Acupuncture needles would also help the astronauts, but they are too skinny for the contest rules. Training some crewmembers in Chinese medicine and having 3D printable cups (and needles) could help the astronauts.
