The MEHD(Multi-Extension Handheld Device) is a multipurpose tool that allows astronauts to perform many tasks with the same tool. There is a scalpel, floss stick, and toothbrush. The toothbrush and floss stick are to be printed out of TPC (Thermoplastic copolyester). The scalpel is to be printed out of PC/ABS (Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or maybe stainless steel in the future. NASA wrote "Astronauts use toothpaste and toothbrushes just like yours. There is no sink like yours on the Space Shuttle, though. Astronauts have to spit into a washcloth." With the toothbrush, you won't need toothpaste because the TPC would be rough enough to rub off most of the plaque. Of course, you would still need toothpaste once in a while. The floss stick is much easier to pack than actual floss. If NASA finds a way to perform surgery in space, then the scalpel will be very useful because it is very thin, sharp, and durable.
