My invention is the artificial tendon. It is designed to replace a tendon that was torn or damaged in the astronaut. A damaged ACL for example may not allow a crew member to accomplish their job due to limited movement. This works by having a detailed assessment on the injury to create a custom insert made of artificial tissue for the specific injury. The tendon is then inserted through surgery and is used until the injury heals. While this may not be as versatile as a human tendon, it does allow the astronaut to perform tasks even while injured. This allows the astronaut to not be completely limited by a damaged tendon, and perform their exploration of this new frontier.
