3DPDP

The 3D Printable Dental Pliers allow astronauts to quickly and efficiently print off a necessary dental tool. Due to its relatively small size, the pliers can also be safely stored away for future use. The main function of this design is to quickly and safely grab onto human teeth for extraction. What separates these pliers from conventional pliers is the relatively small size and the ability to be 3D printed as needed. Despite these pliers being a dental tool, they can also be used for other medical applications or even machine working. Some examples of these other functions might be tightening a bolt or extracting a piece of shrapnel from an astronaut’s body. Overall, the 3DPDP model could replace replace conventional pliers and dental pliers aboard spacecraft of the future.
