"New" Stitches

Imagine an accident has occurred on the way to Mars and/or on Mars and a gash or large wound; actual stitches would be painful and time consuming. The New “Stitches” is essentially a form of a wound closer that does not require the skin to be pierced at all. The way it works is the two rectangular pieces are placed on opposite sides of the wound using an adhesive and pulled together by taking the thin, long piece and pulling it through the hole of the other rectangular base. Then, the long, thin piece could be rolled up or warped in such a way that the piece cannot slip back through the hole of the rectangular base. This warping is possible because the New “Stitches” would be made of a bendable metal such as tin.
