On February 18, 2021 NASA landed a rover on Mars. NASA's Mars Exploration Program launched the rover under a mission called Mars 2020. The rover set landers to Mars in august and when it entered mars atmosphere it changed directions to slow down. It then deployed a parachute and there are photographs from orbit of its landing. When it gets near enough to the surface it lowers the wheels on cables and it gets to the surface. The rover releases solar panels and deploys a drone helicopter. The Rover has recorded and sent NASA the first ever audio from Mars. There was also a panorama photo taken. The purpose of the Rover is to study the astrobiology of the planet, and also to look for any signs of life. The rover will travel around the planet studying the geology and collect specimens and stash them on the planet.
