Eicosatetraenoic acid (EPA) also, known as timnodonic acid, is an omega-3 fatty acid known for improving blood pressure control, preventing and reversing heart disease, and easing the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and depression. EPA can be found, in a variety of fish/ fish supplements, in the animal and human fat, liver, brain, and glandular organs of the human body. EPA consists of 20 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and two oxygen atoms making its molecular formula is C20H30O2. Omega-3 fatty acids have many health benefits including, vision, cognitive and behavior functions in children.
