The molecule I chose is caffeine. Caffeine’s molecular formula is C8H10N4O2. I choose this molecule because a lot of people drink coffee daily and I think it would be interesting to know what it is made of. Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class. It is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive drug. Some properties of caffeine are that it is white, odorless, bitter, melting point is 235 ºC, and it is soluble in water. Caffeine’s most relevant purpose is that it is the number one psychoactive drug and of course most people enjoy it in their morning coffee.
