Of all the molecular compounds out there I would say that there are few to none that can rival the importance of the glucose molecule. The glucose molecule is comprised of 6 carbon atoms, 12 hydrogen atoms, and 6 oxygen atoms. The main use of glucose is to provide our cells with the energy needed to complete their day to day functions. Glucose has no smell to it and is noted to have a sweet taste when ingested. Glucose is a non-toxic substance that also happens to be highly flammable.
