Name That Molcule!

Every day the air that we breathe in has air pollution within it. But have you ever realized what air pollution is? Air pollution is a gas or substance in the air that is toxic and deadly to the environment. Air pollution affects many important parts of the ecosystem and the environment. This air pollution molecule “formaldehyde” is used in making building materials and floor cleaners, glue, and certain insulation materials. This toxic molecule is made out of one carbon molecule, two hydrogen molecules, and one oxygen molecule. All of this together creates formaldehyde, an air pollution molecule. Formaldehyde can also create some health concerns such as cancer, coughs, wheezing, and watery eyes. Every day we encounter this type of molecule in our house and in our everyday lives.
