Vitamin C Molecule

I decided to make a 3D model of the vitamin C molecule, also known as ascorbic acid. Vitamins are chemical substances that are needed for the human body to work properly. We encounter vitamin C every day as it is naturally present in many of the fruits and vegetables we eat. Humans are unable to synthesize vitamin C from other sources in their bodies due to lack of a specific enzyme, therefore it is an essential dietary component for maintaining health. Vitamin C has the chemical formula C6H8O6 and the molecular weight is 176.13 g/mol. It is a water soluble vitamin and it crystallizes out of water in square, white/slightly yellow crystals. Vitamin C was the first vitamin to be chemically manufactured. Today, vitamin C is produced on a large industrial scale. Scurvy is a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency.
