The Relevance of Plastic

Out of everything we interact within our everyday lives, plastic is one of the materials that makes up most objects. Plastic, also called polyethylene, has a molecular composition consisting of two main molecules; carbon and hydrogen. The chemical formula of polyethylene is (C2H4)n. For every carbon molecule, there are two hydrogen molecules. The main properties polyethylene has are flexibility and moldability. Some common everyday items that we see that are made up of plastic are bottles, containers, and bags. There are a bunch more items that we see in our everyday lives that we don't even realize are made of plastic. Unfortunately plastic is harmful to our environment so we have to be careful to recycle our plastic so our world stays clean and healthy for many years to come.
