As it is commonly known, salt is used to flavor the dishes you enjoy, whether this be meat, vegetables, carbohydrates, etc. The world of cuisine and delicacies has been immensely impacted by this fine ingredient. But, a common question arises: what exactly is salt? Salt is made out of a repeating group of atoms: one atom of sodium (Na) and one atom of chloride (CI). These atoms are bonded ionically, which is a connection between two opposite charged ions. Additionally, NaCI has a density of about 2.2 grams/milliliter, and it is easily dissolved by water. Salt even plays a role in our body by keeping our nerves, muscles, and blood pressure stable. All in all, salt is an amazing part of our daily lives, and I am here to show it some love!
