A little bit about plastic

Plastic is one of the most used materials in the world. Look around - it's everywhere- plastic pipes, legos, plastic bags, clothing, etc. There are different types of plastic Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC - U), Polypropylene (PP) Polystyrene, Styrofoam (PS), etc. Polyethylene is the most widely produced plastic in the world ( millions of tons are produced worldwide each year). Plastic is fairly cheap about 2 cents per plastic bag. Although it might seem like a good price it's not. Plastic is not compostable and it hurts our environment. Its molecular structure is C2H4. Plastic molecule consisted of carbons that are joined together like a chain. These chain molecules are called polymers, polymers of many simple molecules repeated over and over again. this simple molecule is called a monomer (one part) this monomer are combined to form a polymer chain.
