Glucose is a sugar that is needed in the body to provide us with nutrients and electrolytes. It is found in the foods that we eat, the most common place that glucose can be found in is carbohydrates like fruits, pasta, and cereals. Glucose´s molecular formula is 6 carbon atoms, 12 hydrogen atoms, and 6 oxygen atoms. Glucose is a watery, colorless, and odorless liquid that mixes well with water. This molecule's relevance in the world today is very important because along with Covid 19 patients in the hospital being on oxygen they also need nutrients, glucose is in IV´s providing these patients with the needed nutrients.
