Hydrogen cyanide is a poisonous chemical that can often be found in fruits that have seeds. Examples of such fruits are apples, apricots, and cherries. Hydrogen cyanide contains a carbon atom, a hydrogen atom. and a nitrogen atom; with a triple bond between the carbon and nitrogen atoms. If too much hydrogen cyanide enters your system, you could get cyanide poisoning or possibly die. Hydrogen cyanide can also be found in the exhaust of vehicles. It has been proposed that hydrogen cyanide is a precursor to nucleic and amino acids, and took a part in the origin of life.
