Fructose is a simple sugar found in most of the foods we consume every day, such as fruit, sodas, and bread. Fructose contains six carbon atoms, twelve hydrogen atoms, and six oxygen atoms. For my 3d model, I represented a fructose molecule in linear form. The six larger atoms on the bottom layer of the model represent carbon atoms. Connected above the carbon atoms are the six oxygen atoms. Lastly, the twelve hydrogen atoms are connected to both the oxygen and carbon atoms, all except for the last oxygen atom. I chose to create a 3d model of a fructose molecule because it is a substance that I and most people encounter on a daily basis, and will continue to do so throughout our lives.
