Vitamin B6 is part of the vitamin B family. Vitamin B6 is also called Pyridoxine. Vitamin B6 is important for many processes in the body like keeping balance of protein, fat and carbohydrate and the creation of red blood cells.Your body cannot produce vitamin B6, so you must obtain it from foods or supplements. Most people get enough vitamin B6 through their diet,by eating foods such as meat, poultry, nuts, whole grains, bananas, and avocados. Vitamin B6 molecule structure contains 3 oxygen atoms, 2 OH atoms which stands for negative Hydrogen Oxygen, and 1 HO atom which stands for positive Hydrogen Oxygen. Pyridoxine is used to treat or prevent vitamin B6 deficiency and is characterized by intractable seizures. It is also used to treat a certain type of anemia (lack of red blood cells). Pyridoxine is also used to treat some types of seizure in babies.
