Ozone is a colorless molecule, made up of 3 parts oxygen. It has a very distinct smell. This molecule is formed when heat and sunlight create reactions between hydrocarbons and nitrogen. It is most present in the stratosphere, also known as the Ozone Layer. Ozone absorbs most of the UV light the sun sends to Earth, keeping us safe. Ozone makes up only about .00006% of the Earth's atmosphere. That may seem like not a lot, but this is still 3 billion metric tons. Ozone is very helpful to our world.
