Phosphoric acid, or otherwise known as orthophosphoric acid (H3PO4), is a crystallized liquid which has no color or odor. It is also said to have a tangy flavor. It’s in soda and it stops mold and bacteria from developing. The acidity of soda also comes from the phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid starts out as the mineral phosphorus. Also, Phosphorus helps Calcium develop healthy bones and teeth. In addition, phosphorus also plays a big role in the body’s development. It is required for living things to be able to generate the genetic codes, DNA and RNA. Phosphorus is converted to phosphorus pentoxide, then processed to become phosphoric acid. Additionally, the boiling point is 314.4 degrees Fahrenheit (or 158 degrees Celsius), and the melting point is 108.2 degrees Fahrenheit ( or 42.35 degrees Celsius).
