Picus

Picus is the Roman name for the Woodpecker, and the woodpecker is Mars' sacred animal. The picus looks like an ordinary bird but it actually has very strong abilities. If it uses its strong beak to peck deep enough into a tree it could knock down the tree. That's like the Rover that looks like an ordinary ship when it's flying to Mars, but when it lands on Mars it opens up and it has super strong abilities just like the woodpecker. So like the picus can dig into a tree the Rover can dig into Mars. The picus is good at foraging, and this Mars rover is designed to be a forager. The rover flying to Mars will be like the Picus flying back to its home.
