Ambition

Dear NASA, The Mars 2020 rover is anticipating a remarkable and noteworthy journey. A journey such as this requires an ambitious name, because it is traveling to an amazing red planet that still has many uncovered secrets. Sojourner landed gracefully with a parachute on the red planet, snapping several photographs like a dutiful traveler. Twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity discovered one of the most important secrets of Mars: water! The technologically advanced Curiosity is busily finding evidence that Mars can support life. Every rover has its own heroic story, so this rover too will have a colossal role to play – not only to answer the question if life did exist, but also to explore the potential for future life on Mars. Our humanity depends on the answers this rover will bring back and this is why I would like to name the Mars 2020 rover: Ambition.
