Perseverance

Robotic ambassador, a description fitting of the Mars 2020 Rover as it will be, in a way, a representation of our country – not only to the world today but also the world of the future. So, a name for the Rover, a name with such gravitas, should be a name fitting of the ideals shown in our nation and in NASA. For that reason I propose the Rover’s name be Perseverance in honor of the determination shown everyday by the men and women of NASA and of our Country. This is the same perseverance it takes for NASA to endeavor to build these revolutionary rovers. It is the same perseverance that pushes people to pursue a brighter future despite the challenges faced. Perseverance drives us. Perseverance defines us. In a word, perseverance perfectly encapsulates not only our Country and NASA, but also all humanity.
