Inspiration

The word “inspiration” represents a quality that can be defined as, the desire to preform a creative task. The Mars 2020 rover is not only a product of this quality, but a facilitator for its expansion. Over the past century, we as a species have become increasingly fascinated with the prospect of extraterrestrial life. At the same time, we have had unprecedented technological growth. This combination has inspired us to investigate for life outside of Earth, while constantly evolving the methods of these explorations. This rover is the next step in this process, and the results of its mission will help define future actions in planetary exploration. This applies to the teams responsible for its creation, and the greater populace who serve to learn and be inspired through the rover’s endeavors. It is for these reasons I strongly feel the name “inspiration” fits this rover.
