I believe that Ikenga would be a perfect name for the Mars rover because he’s the god of human endeavor, achievement, success, and victory in the Igbo religion in southeastern Nigeria. Ikenga is depicted as a horned alusi and statues of him are mostly possessions of men with occasional women of high reputation in society being the owner. According to The Guardian, an alusi is a spirit to be worshipped. Furthermore, I think we should try something different from the Greek Gods and let other cultures have their turn. Finally, since NASA’s wanting all of the aforementioned things; human endeavor, achievement, success, and victory this would, in my opinion, also be the most sensible.
