I was very excited when I was told about this challenge! I looked up every word related to the objective of the Mars Rover. I searched for the definition of words such as microbial and discovery, as well as their root words and latin meanings, but nothing spoke to me. I mentioned this challenge to my family and they all helped me search for ideas. My mom suggested omni-logos, but it didn’t sound cool enough. My dad suggested I look in Sanskrit, which is an ancient Indo-European language of India. I thought it was worth a try. It was the best idea! There were so many cool words and I found the one I liked best: Asrik, the sanskrit word for blood. I think this is the best name for the Mars Rover of 2020 because it’s easy to pronounce, easy to read, and Mars is called the “Red Planet”.
