Multi-Mission Radioisotopic Thermoelectric Generator and My Special Power
Everything needs power. Humans get power from their food. Computers get it from electricity. Spacecrafts get it from Radioisotopic Power Systems (RPS). RPS is a kind of nuclear energy technology that turn heat into electricity. They get that heat from the natural decay of Plutonium-238. Plutonium-238 is put into a ceramic form to be used. RPS can be used in environments that are cold to hot. That is why NASA uses them to fuel their spacecraft.
The Multi-Mission Radioisotopic Thermoelectric Generator is the Radioisotopic power system that inspires me. Being versatile allows the MMRTG to work in the vacuum of space or a planet's atmosphere. This also allows it to survive in harsh environments. These aspects are why the MMRTG is used in rovers. Perseverance and Curiosity are currently using this technology.
I can’t label any one part of me my special power. My special power is my family. My family empowers me to follow my dream to become a Disney Imagineer. Disney Imagineers are people who come up with and build the rides and attractions at Disney parks. My parents are also the ones who made me who I am today. They gave me my determination, curiosity, and perseverance.
