The radioisotope power system will be used on a mission to power a space station which orbits the moon. The purpose of this mission will be as a base to progress interplanetary travel and space exploration as a whole. The base station can be used for researchers to easily monitor conditions on the moon and in space, further from Earth than ever before. In addition, it will allow for much easier travel as a waypoint to Mars, the subsequent goal for NASA. Staying outside of the Earth’s orbit for a prolonged period of time is something which has not been accomplished, but important to humankind as it evolves into a more advanced civilization to be able to understand more about our universe. My unique power would be my leadership skill. It is highly important on a mission to have clear direction and confidence in following a leader in decision making. A leader needs to be decisive, confident, and to listen to explore solutions to problems in an effective manner. In an environment much different from Earth and with a clear objective or task in mind, leadership is necessary to not only succeed but to return back to Earth safely.
