I propose a mission to go to 7968 Elst-Pizarro, an active asteroid that travels in the asteroid belt. We think there may be water on Elst-Pizarro because it has a tail or coma. My goal is to land a probe on Elst-Pizarro to see if there is water there and to bring a sample back so people could study it and see if it was like the water on earth. A radioisotope power system would be useful for this mission because it will be going far away from the sun, and an RPS can give both power and heat for long periods of time. We know that it is safe to send spacecraft through the asteroid belt because the asteroids are widely spread out, as proven by the Pioneer 10 spacecraft. My special power is that I have an enormous imagination. I can imagine different ways the spacecraft can land on Elst-Pizarro and take off to return to Earth. I could imagine different obstacles that might be in the way of the spacecraft, like asteroids, gravity from planets, or solar radiation. When I think of obstacles I can also think of solutions for overcoming them.
