My RPS mission is to travel to Charon in order to investigate the tidal movement under the frozen surface that may be caused by the tidal lock between Pluto and Charon. The lander will use a rocket sequence until it reaches Jupiter, detach into a capsule, and be propelled from the Jovian atmosphere to the area around Charon and Pluto, where it will land. Then, it will begin breaking the ice, and once it is finished, we will be able to see if Pluto affects Charon’s tides. My reasoning for this occurrence is that the Moon has a gravitational effect on the Earth and its tides, causing them to rise and fall. Pluto also has a gravitational effect on Charon, and we know that Charon has had running water. Therefore, I can predict that Pluto’s gravity will cause Charon’s tides to rise and fall as well. My perseverance will aid me in my mission. I will not give up and will make sure that my lander can land safely on Charon. I know that my abilities will help me to reach Charon in order to answer the question, “Does Pluto’s gravity have an effect on the tides of Charon?”
