Callisto is a moon in the Jovian system. There haven’t been any missions specifically to Callisto, so this mission is really important. Callisto has so many cool features that we know almost nothing about, which is why we need to use RPS to get to Callisto. Callisto used to be known as the dead moon until the Galileo Mission found things like a subsurface ocean, an atmosphere, and tons of craters. There is a possibility that there might be life on Callisto because of the ocean interacting with rocks and the atmosphere made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. My mission would be a landing, using a gravity assist from Mars. My rover, Ambition, would land on the surface and drill into the ground, taking samples of dust and rock and analyzing them. It would also take pictures of the surface of Callisto. We need RPS because Callisto is really far from the sun (approximately 484 million miles from the sun) so solar power would be unreliable, also Callisto has freezing temperatures and RPS generates heat so the rover wouldn’t freeze and stop working. When Ambition is dying, we would drive it into one of the deepest craters to take one more measurement before it dies. The unique talent that I bring to this mission is flexibility. I work well with others, love learning, and am filled with curiosity. I can help analyze data, provide support or do anything else that is needed. Callisto has so many unique things to explore and learn about and this mission can let us learn these things, so let's use the power to explore to learn about Callisto.
