Because rovers repeatedly need to recharge their batteries using a solar panel, they do not last that long before needing to recharge. As a result, it will be able to explore less in a given amount of time. However, adding more solar panels will increase the intake of solar energy, resulting in faster recharging. These solar panels are small, but by fixating one on each wheel of the rover, the intake of solar energy will increase substantially. Furthermore, to make sure these solar panels to not get damaged in any way or break off of the rover, there are shock absorbers inside the wheel. These shock absorbers are connected to the center of the wheel where the arm holding the solar panel in place when the rover is charging resides.
