The ADAPT Wheel is my new redesigned rover wheel. The surface area of this wheel is made up of a repeating pattern of solid reinforced aluminum segments and larger segments of aluminum chain mail. The chain mail section is larger, so that the aluminum segment can have more room to wiggle. The most important feature of this wheel that sets it apart from regular rover wheels is the ability to physically adapt to its environment. Using two suspenders per aluminum segment enables the aluminum and the chain mail segment to move inward using the advantage of a wheel surface that can wiggle. So basically if this wheel drives over a sharp rock, the wheel will absorb it and the wheel will allow the rock to change its shape into a deformed circle, then after the wheel passes over the rock it will reform and return to its circular shape.
