The Mars Rover Wheel has a hard rubber on the outside to grip the ground on Mars. The layer inside the hard rubber tire is made of metallic glass, which swaps with the hard rubber tire on the outside when driving over sharp rocks as metallic glass is very strong. There are four sensors on the outside of the wheel to detect sharp rocks. The sensors are mounted on the metallic glass layer. The layer inside the metallic glass is eight plates made of steel. There are also thirty-two springs connecting the steel plates with the central hub. Each plate has four springs attached to it that are inside the perimeter of the wheel. These springs are used to help the tire to keep its shape and absorb the shocks. The springs are made of Titanium Alloy because they are lightweight. The central hub is made of metallic glass.
