The High Tensile Mesh Wheel is a memory alloy aluminum composite wheel made of a wire mesh, springs, and a hollow aluminum core. It is designed to take the stress of heavy terrain and obstacles by contorting to the shape of the terrain. Rocks will push the wire mesh inwards as the rover passes over it while the wire springs help guide the memory alloy mesh to its original shape. The curved ridges added onto the exterior mesh provide more surface area and traction for gripping sand. The flat face of the wheel provides more surface area for less sinkage.
