This is Resistance, a wheel designed to endure the natural terrain that is encountered on Mars. The primary function of this design is to have the least amount of friction possible. The outer body of the wheels have been damaged in the earlier models and this design plans to replace the aluminum alloy there with a carbon composite structure. The other bodies or faces of the wheel can be constructed using aluminum, considering it's lightweight and durable. Previous models have used grousers on the outside body of the wheel often seen in larger vehicles such as tanks, which also deal with similar terrain. This design had also taken inspiration from truck wheels, going for durability and efficiency. The shape pressed on the outside acts as a cushion or protector for the rib of the wheel. Lastly, learning from the earlier versions of itself, Resistance can further encourage space exploration today.
