My tool is a petri dish designed for use in microgravity. It is very important to study bacteria in microgravity. Bacteria can be used in biodigesters to produce methane gas and their study may lead to information on development of antibiotic resistance. Traditional petri dishes are covered and stacked during experimentation. The petri station is a rectangular block that has reservoirs on all sides. Agar will be placed in these reservoirs and plated with bacteria. The reservoirs are then covered with adherent saran wrap. The block is allowed to float in the space station - taking up less "counter space". My tool will allow for more experimentation on the ISS.
