This modular terrace unit is designed to save space, reduce waste, make living spaces more habitable and provide calming activity and nutrition. The units snap or hook together or can be tied down by the loops at the base, and are designed to be filled with waste paper or cloth. Many plants can grow in this type of substrate, and the capillary action- which does not require gravity- occurs in both, making plants easy to water with a squeeze bottle. The triangular supports stabilize the unit and trap the substrate, seeds, and plant scraps, many of which can be used to regrow plants, reducing waste. The planter uses minimum space to grow high-nutrient foods such as sprouts and create small gardens for astronauts to care for as a pastime.
