The toilets on the space station are designed for practicality. Bars, levers and straps help secure the astronaut to the toilet while he or she does business. The toilet toe-hold is designed to replace the foot strap with a small piece that holds only the toes in place. This gives the astronauts more freedom to move their feet while doing their business. The current strap is designed to hold the whole foot in place. I believe an astronaut deserves the most comfort possible, which can be achieved by adding this small piece to the end of each of the toilet’s two foot rests.
