Many seniors in our region who are most at risk for COVID-19 are socially isolating to stay safe, but some local students want to make sure they do not feel alone. Making cards, encourages positivity and teaches kids to spread kindness during an uncertain time. The goal is to make some cards and some pictures for the seniors, just to bring them a little bit of joy. Along with the pictures, children can write notes of encouragement. How it works is simple, someone will be collecting notes virtually and to show people that even though they are separated from younger people and from their families, we're all thinking of them. It can teach card-makers community, generosity, and empathy towards Covid-19 patients or even people sheltered in place right now. For older adults, this project isn't just about giving them just a gift of kindness, it also shows that you can make people happy with simple gestures.
