Make Someone Smile Monday

To begin my project to make someone happy today, , I decided to make a face mask for the mail carrier. The idea started when I learned how to sew face masks for my dad who is a paramedic. My sister and I also have made masks for the Shelbyville hospital healthcare workers. When I started sewing, I ran out of elastic and that is what the pattern said to use. I looked around the house trying to decide what I could use for the straps. I found some ½ inch seam binding and folded it in half to make it ¼ inch. It worked!! I think surprising the mail carrier with a face mask will make her SMILE!! It will also hopefully keep her safe! This project helped me to understand how to use what I have at home to create something that could be useful and helpful to someone.
